From the Black Pool
is an ongoing horror anthology exploring the domestic, the cosmic, the buried, and the brutal.
Each story stands on its own, but attentive readers may discover recurring locations, manifestations, and characters lurking beneath the surface. From isolated farmhouses and cluttered bungalows to fallen angels and ancient wars, every tale traces a different path through the growing Black Pool mythology.
Volume One collects the first three stories.
In August of 1993, Stacey and her son Joel arrived at a farmhouse outside of Pontiac, Illinois.
The property had been established as a refuge for women fleeing domestic abuse.
They were the last known occupants of the residence.
Thirty years later, stories about what happened there still circulate throughout Livingston County.
A woman discovered something growing in her house.
Something that threatened to unravel her life and expose her deepest secrets.
Once a successful eBay reseller, Lonnie must reclaim her home from a growing hoard, a fractured family, and the darkness she finds lurking beneath it all.
In 2016, a pizza store manager from Chicago, Illinois traveled to Rockford in search of answers.
The trail led to a towing company and a man known only as Memphis.
Although dozens of witnesses claim to have met him, no record has ever been found confirming where he came from.
The reports continue to this day.
